Colorado

My foray into hiking started in Kentucky and became known during a trip to West Virginia. It was Colorado that showed me how much I really enjoy hiking and the mountains. Though these pictures were taken on my cell phone, I feel they still get across the idea of how expansive the sites were.

Colorado saw me hike my first 14er, Mount Bierstadt, with a good friend from college. Looking back, it's a wonder I did it without trekking poles. The following day took us to Mount Flora, a 13er and another first. She provided hidden breathtaking views nestled within higher peaks.

There's a reason it's called "Colorful Colorado." A autumn trip into the high country during peak color is a stunning sight.
